Public domain month at Europeana

The Europeana team will be dedicating this month to the issue of public domain.

One of Europeana's fundamental principles is that works that are in the public domain before they are digitised, should remain in the public domain (i.e. free from copyright) once they are digitised. Currently, 7,607,443 objects are available via Europeana and are declared to be in the public domain.

During all this month the team at Europeana along with their long serving partners at KennislandUniversity of Amsterdam and National Library of Luxembourg will be publishing blogposts and tweets (@EuropeanaIPR) to share with readers their  knowledge on public domain, including a few tips and tricks on how to apply the Public Domain Mark.
