Minjastofnun Íslands /The Cultural Heritage Agency of Iceland
The Cultural Heritage Agency of Iceland is the central authority for protection and management of archaeological and architectural heritage in Iceland. The mission of the Agency, in accordance with the Cultural Heritage Act (no. 80/2012), is to safeguard the Icelandic cultural heritage and pass it on intact to future generations. To achieve this mission the main focus of the Agency is on in-situ preservation, on the increasing of public awareness and access to the cultural heritage, and on promoting research. CHAI (former AHAI and AHBI) is a content provider in the CARARE project.
Tasks in LoCloud: aggregating content from local cultural institutions, advising and contributing to the project help desk, testing of tools developed in WP3. Carrying out national dissemination in Iceland , engaging small and medium-sized cultural institutions.
